We didn't make it into the park quite as early as we would have liked on the second day. The tickets we bought through Get Away Today came with one early entry pass. That meant that we were able to get into Tomorrowland and Fantasyland an hour earlier than the park actually opened at nine. We made it in at about 8:45 after a slight mishap with a folding chair. Apparently Disney doesn't allow chairs of any kind inside the park, never mind we had it the day before but whatever, you'd think we were trying to smuggle in a gun or something. Luckily Steven's sister Lindsay was floating around in the gift shop or we would have had to take the 40 minute trek back to the car it was annoying.
Since the first day was a lot of rides for Paizley we told Xander the second day would be his. We didn't get into Tomorrowland at all the first day, and that's where most of the rides Xander wanted were. First off we rode the Buzz Lightyear ride which the both loved. Then Steven and Xander rode Star Tours while the Jayne and I rode Dumbo again.
They have Mickey ear headbands now, so Paizley opted for that instead of the traditional hats. She insisted on the wedding ears complete with veil.
One of the things Xander was very excited for was the Jedi training camp. They pick kids out of the audience to go up on stage and train with the Jedi. I read online that you had to get there early to get a seat in front which we did, and you have to be energetic without being annoying (I'm not really sure if that is possible for an eight year old).
Paizley wasn't very thrilled waiting for the show to start.
They passed over Xander the first time through picking kids so I thought for sure he wasn't going up. But then they came back over to our side and he was picked right at the end.
I'll spare you the thirty minute video, because of course we taped the whole thing, but here is Xander battling Darth Vader. I'm a little annoyed that the kid in the front battling Darth Maul makes it a little hard to see Xander. I'm so glad he got a chance to do this, it ended up being one of his favorite moments.
Riding Finding Nemo
After the Nemo ride I decided I wanted to do Star Tours so Steven took Paizley over to the FairyLand to meet Tinkerbell. P.S. they have made Star Tours 3D now and it make me so sick! I had to close my eyes halfway through so I wouldn't barf. I guess I'm getting too old for that kind of stuff.
Paizley and Tinkerbell
Paizley and Vidia
We spent the afternoon over in California Adventures. This year Disney opened Carsland. The wait for the main ride was pretty much ridiculous and it kept breaking down so we didn't end up riding it. I think it's always good to leave something for next time. But we were able to do the other rides.
Steven and Xander on Mater's tracker pull. The best part of this ride is hearing Mater do the instructions in Spanish. It's hilarious.
Paizley and Lindsey
The other ride is Luigi's tire something, I can't remember the whole name. It's kind of like bumper cars only you lean to the side you want the tire to float to.
Steven and Grandpa Ross
After Carsland we went to the Bug's Life area. Everyone else was going to ride Tower of Terror but I think it broke down so we all ended up doing the Bug rides.
Steven and Xander
Heimlich's ride
The last ride of the day was they Toy Story Ride. Xander and Paizley both loved it. It is another 3D ride but for some reason this one didn't make me sick. We had planed to watch the show but the kids wanted to ride Toy Story again. The wait was 45 minutes so we saw the show from the back.
You get the 3D glasses while you are waiting in line so the kids had to wear them the whole time
Lindsey and Paizley on the ride. It's a carnival game type ride, you use the cannon to shoot targets on the screen.
After we finished Toy Story for the second time we still had about thirty minutes until California Adventure closed. Steven and Lindsey wanted to ride the Tower of Terror. Xander decided to use his "I don't want to ride" card ( I told the kids they had to ride everything once and if they didn't like it they didn't have to ride it again. But I told them they could choose one ride they didn't have to do) and opted out. Paizley had already fallen asleep in the stroller so we sat outside of the ride for a good 45 minutes while they went on it. The ride closed at ten so it was funny watching all the people run up at 10:01 and beg to be let on. I'm sure the workers get tired of hearing every one's sob story about how it's their last day and they are here from Hawaii, I know I did.
