Happy Birthday Deeder!

I'm fairly confident I'm the worst person on the planet.  My Dad's birthday was  on Tuesday and I forgot.  I even talked to him that evening and it didn't click with me.  Horrible!!!  I had been planning to write a bit about my Dad so I guess late is better than never.

I love my Dad!  He is one of my favorite people on the planet.  He was always there for us growing up.  We could tell him anything, and not have to worry about him freaking out.  He was always willing to help us find solutions to our problems.  He would stay up until we arrived home or we would make sure to wake him up and let him know.

I like to think that we have the same sens of humor.  I remember countless times watching movies with him.  We would be dying and my Mom and Heidi would be looking at us like whatever.  One of our favorite things to do is quote movies to each other.  His favorite is the original Aurthur with Dudley Moore, if you haven't seen it you should really check it out.

He taught me how to tease.  Heidi and I were very much into My Little Ponies, we owned about a hundred.  We would get them all set up in the living room and my Dad would yell "pony tornado" from the other room and run through kicking anything that he could reach.  Of course we would scream and he would laugh.  I now enjoy doing the same thing to my son with his army men.

My Dad loves my kids.  He loves to have them come stay with him and he misses them when they aren't there.  He spent ten minutes on the phone with Paizley the other day while she regaled him with stories about her day.  He will play video games with Xander and puts up with Paizley's hug and kiss stinginess.

My Dad has a close relationship with the Lord.  He's been a bishop and on the high council.  We joke with him that the next step is stake president which he doesn't see the humor in.  He doesn't realize that the joke is on him and if it did happen I wouldn't be the least bit surprised.  He's very humble and a good speaker.  When he was put in as bishop in the Inkom ward many of the members came up to us and expressed what a great man he is.  I agree and admire everything about my Dad.

I love you Dad, happy birthday!!
