Running With Angels

When Laron and Laura lost Bethanie a year and a half ago a group called Angel Watch came in to help support the family through all the decisions before she passed and the devastating grief after.  They have a 5K run/walk every year to raise funds.  We weren't able to participate last year, but I made sure we did this year.  It was a great experience knowing we were making it possible for this program to continue.

I won't lie, I was a little ornery going into this.  We were running late like usual and then we got lost at Thanksgiving point and when we finally got parked and to the starting line it was ten minutes before it started.  There were a million people which didn't help things.  Anyway because of this I didn't get many pictures at the beginning, so I stole most of these off Laura's face book page.

Steven, Laron and Christy.  Steven was pretty much done with me at this point, I had yelled at him a few too many times.

Laura and a couple of her friends made these necklaces for us to wear.  Our team is called Bethanie's bunch.  The wings of the butterfly are her actual foot prints from the hospital.

Paizley was coming down with a cold so she wasn't really feeling it.  She rode in the stroller the whole time.  She actually got the best deal because it started to rain approximately four seconds after the race started.  It poured for the whole time we were walking, we were soaked.  That's why I didn't get any pictures after it started because I was afraid my Ipad would get wet.

This is how wet we got.  I was really wishing I hadn't worn any mascara because it was dripping into my eyes.  It will be fun to remember this as the year it rained and we got toally soaked.

Spring Musical

Saratoga Shores Elementary decided to do a musical this year.  It was only five dollars and everyone got to participate.  Xander, Tommy, Sadie and Lucie all decided it would be a fun activity (or Laura and I decided whatever).

The lady that ended up directing it was a little crazy, granted they had a much bigger response then they had planned on, but seriously bring it down a few pegs.  We seriously would get a three page email every two days, it was a little exhausting for me and I wasn't even involved.  There was also the mishap with buying the tickets and no one communicating about when they could actually be sold.  I love it when someone tells you that you can buy them at carpool at 2:15 and you say that it doesn't work for you because you work and you get a look like you've grown a third eye.  Anyway I'll quit being so negative because it's over and it actually turned out pretty cute.

The bad thing about having small kids is they are always on the front row and people's heads get in the way

Yee-haw.  Xander and Tommy are in the front on the right

Cool Dudes

Hammer time.

Even though at times I was super irritated with this whole process I think I'll try to have Xander do it next year.  There is talk of having to audition which might be stressful, we'll see how it goes.

Spring Carnival

I'm trying to be more involved in events going on around us.  So I put on a happy face and we ventured up to the carnival at the elementary school.

They had a meal deal for $10 you could get a pizza, six drinks and six brownies.

Steven has totally spoiled Paizley, he never makes her walk anywhere.  All she has to do is say my feet are tired and he will pick her up.  I don't play that game.  This is Paiz wishing daddy were there because mom won't carry her.

I don't have as many pictures of Hailey's graduation from Utah State because we got lost and made it to the ceremony pretty late.  We walked in the foyer and heard them call her name to accept the diploma.  She graduated with a degree in Mathematics.  She is going to teach on the junior high level (kill me now).  She has already found a job at the Preston, Idaho middle school.  Feel free to insert Napoleon Dynamite joke here.

Silver Beaver

I'm sure I've talked about how crazy my mom is when it comes to scouting.  She was course director for Wood Badge this year for crying out loud.  Anyway my mom and my aunt Lisa were both awarded the Silver Beaver award which is the highest honor that a leader can get in the scouting program.  I'm pretty proud of her.
