I always get irritated when people complain about the commercialization of Christmas, come on people you spend what you want to spend. I love the holidays, something about the spirit, lights and getting people gifts. It is so fun to watch someone open and enjoy a gift that you spent time finding. I guess it's a little ironic that I hate Valentines day because my argument for it is basically the same. I don't feel that Steven should be forced to get me stuff and be romantic just because the calendar says he should. It means so much more when it is spontaneous. Needless to say we tend not to celebrate it.
At work someone had the bright idea to have a Valentine's day box contest like w are in 1st grade. I was ticked that they only gave us two days notice so of course at eight the night before I was cranking out my box (who am I kidding it wouldn't have mattered how much time I had I still would have been doing it the night before....procrastination is the name of the game!)
Speaking of procrastination we didn't get to the store to get Xander Valentines for his class so we went to Walmart after our weekly Wednesday night at Trafalga. Holy crapola there were three million people there and only Disney princess Valentines left. Xander was not thrilled so Steven bought some super hero stickers and they put them over the faces of the princesses. Parents of the year I tell you.
My box didn't end up winning any awards but I think it turned out cute for twenty minutes of bad attitude crafting.
